Marriage equality
Thursday. 12.8.11 3:12 am
Great news: there's a new movement in Washington state pushing for total marriage equality

We were talking about this at the QMG meeting...and Jack said "if this thing starts to go anywhere, we have to get ready for the backlash." I had this sudden sense of camaraderie. It was like I was part of the resistance, preparing to stand against something. It kinda made me think...what else in my life have I ever had to fight for? I live in a country where freedom isn't a luxury, it's expected. I've always expected to have food, water, and shelter. I've always expected to go to school and come back to a warm shower. But what I didn't expect was to be discriminated against because the person I love isn't a woman. Now, I have something to fight for, and it makes me proud to be who I am.

There's a lot of talk about the Rick Perry campaign ad that's been circulating around the net....I haven't watched it. And I don't plan on it, because I don't feel like being disgusted. But either way, I appreciate the fact that Tinky Winky took the time to photobomb the shit out of this still frame.

Let's see what happens

Do not try to bend the spoon. That's impossible. Instead, try to realize the truth. There is no spoon. Then you will see that it is not the spoon that bends, it is only yourself.

I'm glad that there are movements towards marriage equality. I hope it gets approved.

I'm reminded of this: http://youtu.be/_TBd-UCwVAY

I guess the marriage equality/gay rights stuff is the fight against discrimination of our generation. I'm pretty confident that we'll succeed, just based on historical trends, but it'll probably be a long struggle...

Thanks for the support BRO
We're not THAT different, you know. Haha. I have found the same to be true. Introspective times are usually the most depressing for me, unfortunately, but I get the most out of them.

"Quote" by Dream Theater? You mean a seven-paragraph lyric bomb, right?

Oh Tinkey Winkey... I never understood why he had the weirdest of all Teletubby names. Not that Dipsey is all that great of a name, either.

re:comment
It's literally taking me DAYYYYYSSSS to upload all my music. Mostly because I have to first transfer some from my Mac to my PC (which has the specs to use the amazon uploader tool), which takes a couple hours at a time, and then upload it in chunks, those chunks taking at least an entire day or longer to upload it all. Dumb, but getting there.

Well, what music do you like? I am a fan of Death Cab for Cutie (though I haven't heard their new album yet... I'm a bad fan.), Mates of State, Franz Ferdinand, and other things I can't think of right now because it's almost 3am and I don't want to start up iTunes... X)

I hope WA does pass it. I know a lot of people who would be really happy about it. It's also nice to feel a part of something, especially something as big as this is. Then you can later on tell people you were a part of the group that helped fight for what you believe in ... and won.

You know, my mom is all anti-gay and such, but she totally went and bought the Tinky-Winky after Falwell condemned it... now I'm confused.

Yeah, I think $50 would get me... a 3DS game and accessory, most likely. Or maybe a used copy of Catherine or some other game I've been wanting.

It's very hard for me to see good stuff in it... I mean, there are things that I understand most people would find positive, but they're not what I personally want.

I was reading the INFP/ISFJ pairing thread not because I wanted any particular definitions of how things work, but because I wanted to know if anyone else had similar experiences, and it turns out they did. It seemed like a lot of the INFPs felt the same as me in that they recognized they had a partner with many typically highly sought after qualities, so they regretted that they felt there was something innate that was just... lacking.

There hasn't been a point in this relationship where I was just really happy and sure things would go well, so it's been hard to find a reason to hold on. So far I've just figured that if I wait, maybe it will get better, but it hasn't... And I can't talk to him until after finals are over, which has made things a bit more difficult. Anyway, when I've talked to him about my concerns in the past, he's really not had anything to say that has helped. :/

It's weird, but I felt the same way about the movement. When people make speeches about marriage equality, I actually get fired up. It's a weird sensation, right? To really care about something and how it changes...essentially the structure of your future romantic life.
