It's the Day After Tomorrow...today
Wednesday. 4.24.08 10:50 pm
Ok maybe not today, but this weekend it was going global warming on all of our asses up here in the northwest. Snow, hail, rain, sun, and lightning, all within a 2-day time span...I'm still waiting for that aptly timed hurricane or tornado to show up to wrap it all up. For crying out loud, it's late April...

Speaking of crying out loud, Prom is getting to be ridiculous. And it's not even about how much it costs either...it's about who's going to dinner with who. On one hand you have the people who are getting pissy about being constantly harangued as to why they aren't going, and then on the other hand you have the people who are getting pissy because "so and so isn't going in our group because so and isn't on good terms with so and so." And I'm getting pissy because it's JUST dinner, it's trivial, and you're all going to end up in the same place 2 hours later. HEAR MUFFY ROAR

I fear that college may only be a small escape from the drama of high school. I went to a dorm last month with some friends to visit a sibling...and it was bad. I had to seriously question how some of these people got into the UW. "Like totally, like omg I know." And you're in college?? *shudders*

Yay our school paper is in the top 3 for some journalism compeition we entered...I can't remember the name but it sounded very official.
Also, I like Serj Tankian's music and respect his instrumental skills.
Also, I like pie.

That is all, Muffy over and out

Do not try to bend the spoon. That's impossible. Instead, try to realize the truth. There is no spoon. Then you will see that it is not the spoon that bends, it is only yourself.

Oh I don't like it when people use the reason "its the hippest thing around or this semester" to get people to attend something and I also don't like it when people isolate a person because they are not on good terms, you're right, they're going to end up in the same place anyway!

As for sleeping... try taking a really hot bath, as hot as you can stand, don't cook yourself and let your imagination run wild when you decided that it is time to sleep!

I had serj tankian on my site first.
I win.

I guess I was just messing with the bottle and realized that it could stick to my face. Not a lot of other bottles can do that, because of the weight or width of the mouth.

I honestly was looking for a word, but couldn't think of one. So. That's improv for you.

I've been hearing lot of good things about this in school, so I can stand that it's not LOL. As long as you (the world!) like it!

If Prom is this stressful for a guy, I've gotta wonder how much more horrible it is for girls. :| Or great, depending on your point of view.

Ye who are snackless, I pity thee! Actually we've only gotten snacks in highschool, it was unheard of before unless you brought stuff yourself. And we aren't allowed to eat DURING the test, just during breaks.

Many people seem to enjoy pie. :P

people make too much of a big deal about prom. I never went to mine and I turned out just fine. a lot of people asked why and my answer was simple; I just didn't feel like it. for those who insisted, I would then later go into details, but for most, my original answer would suffice.

and good luck dealing with the drama. even if you don't go to college, you can't escape it. and it only gets weirder once high school ends
» LostSoul13 on 2008-04-24 08:00:41

I didn't go to prom... because I was barely at FWHS my junior and senior years anyway and I thought it would be super awkward.

Last year, I had the chance to go to my very first formal dance (through my res hall) and I thought "Oh my gosh, I get to make up for prom."

And oh my gosh, I so did. Girls were crying in the bathroom because their dresses didn't look right, a few people got caught with booze, and shit went down because so-and-so wasn't invited to so-and-so's afterparty. If I knew then what I know now, I wouldn't have wasted my time and money.

What I found, is that nineteen and twenty year-olds aren't a far cry from seventeen and eighteen year olds. College is a big change, and it's really exciting, but the same bullshit is everywhere.

I know...it's all I can say. I know.
» Silver-dot- on 2008-04-25 12:47:34

hahaha oh the ap test, i've decided that i'm not even going to try because i think i'd rather get a 0 than negative points.

Welcome to the club. The very sick, oh-so-twisted, extremely sadistic club.

What I've learned from my college experience (and my real world experience) is that there is really no way to completely escape the drama. It'll always rear it's ugly head somewhere, somehow. This is especially true when you live in close quarters with people. If anything, that may make things worse, in a very passive-aggressive way, especially as people desperately try to remain civil.

re:
official as in relationship-wise? it was official just over a month ago. =]
» LostSoul13 on 2008-04-26 03:36:08

re:
yes, I know there is a movie but I'm so NOT looking forward to it. The casts of the Cullen family are soooo NOT hot and grogeous like they're supposed to. I mean I know it is hard to get people who look inhumanly beautiful but at least they could've done a better job at casting those people. Furthermore, the actor who's playing Edward has such an ugly looking jawbone and is not hot!

I've never heard of "The Strangers" but most probably would watch it when it comes out.

I have indeed been to Forks. Granted, not since I was 9 or 10. I remember a Dairy Queen. However, I go to La Push and Port Townsend all the time... and it just weirds me out that fictional people go there, too.

Jailbait and my friendship never really recovered from the whole "naughty word" incident. So, if you wanted to fail him to within an inch of his life with a jump rope, I could film it and put it on youtube for you.
» Someones_Muse on 2008-04-26 12:15:03

I do with all my being, but he smells good... :(
» randomjunk on 2008-04-26 08:26:29

I thought that living in a dorm was a lot like still going to High School because everyone around you is just out of high school and the maturity level is not very high. I recommend getting an apartment off campus -- it was cheaper for me, and really led to me feeling more free.

hahahaha olga only good at two things, plowing fields and making sandwhich.
» Serendipity on 2008-05-05 12:06:27

i think my school is retarded.
my school is basically the only school in the world that serves dinner AT prom.
