The changing times
Monday. 9.3.07 10:02 am
Some of it might be summer fever, or at least I hope so. Why is everyone changing? Conformism seems to be the latest fad, and ugly sides are making much more frequent appearances. Unless that's what people really are becoming. The distinction between real friends and school acquaintances have become almost painfully clear to me now. There are people who I wish could translate between the two contexts, but most of them are too preoccupied with getting drunk or high to pay much notice. The lack of backbone makes me SICK. I take that almost word-for-word from the comment I left Middaymoon only because it is the closest I can come to expressing my disgust without frantically swearing. It's not so much what people are doing, it's WHY they're doing it...stop following the f*cking crowd, whatever happened to dignity and that bit about self respect?

But I guess not all changes are for the worse

I never thought I would be sitting here feeling the way I do...I think I'll fall asleep tonight smiling about her.

Do not try to bend the spoon. That's impossible. Instead, try to realize the truth. There is no spoon. Then you will see that it is not the spoon that bends, it is only yourself.

I never thought I'd read those words. :0

This has definitely changed my perspective of you. We'll just have to see how this turns out...

You thought that was interesting? Huh. I hadn't expected that.

I started having doubts about religion five years ago, so now I'm an agnostic. My entire family is christian, which makes it just a bit difficult for me. I can't even talk to my mom about it without either getting into a fight with her or tearing up unintentionally.

The highest level character I ever had was a level sixty... and I would've kept going but it got erased. :( Now I just have a level twenty five assassain and a few low level characters I just abandoned way back when.

okay hi, that last bit may be the cutest thing i've ever heard. annnd i agree with you about the changing bit..i guess some people just get too wrapped up in partying and all that that it starts to get a bit ridiculus. i personally don't mind if people choose to drink or smoke, but i don't like when they do it just for the sake of looking cooler or whatever. that's just stupid.

Yup yup.
People screwing up their lives...it ain't cool.

Is that really what the kids are doing? Damn, I can't imagine how much worse my alcoholism would be if I actually spent more than an hour at a time at FWHS.

And my interest has also been piqued by your mention of a "her." I think I full explanation is in order.

Don't I HAVE depression issues?

The whole whitewater rafting thing... I think it was really my mother's doing. She's the one who pretty much solidified my decision because I was also thinking that I'm still settling in. Just talking to her pretty much set my mind. Before I talked to her I was still leaning towards going. I really want to meet people so that whole aspect didn't really concern me.

Yeah I definitely began to see sides of my friends I would never like to see again. The talking behind the back deal agitated me. However I began to see that a lot of people became more open-minded when you compare them to their ninth grade selves.

But with the whole getting high and wasted thing really is annoying. Drinking isn't bad, but when you do it excessively, it's bad. It's just knowing your limits and not going over board.

Prom weekend was kind of bad. Some people rented a place in Montauk (the very east side of Long Island) and they like wrecked the place. This is just what I heard... but still what I heard was from people who were actually there.

Anyway people do change and it's exactly like you said how not everyone changes for the worse.
